Immanuel & First Spanish United Methodist Church
About Us
A Bilingual Congregation, member of New York Conference of the United Methodist Church, Long Island West District.
45 members, major number Latino people and others from the Caribbean islands.
We have Sunday Bible School at 9:00 AM in Spanish & English; on Wednesdays (begining on January, 2012) Prayer & Testimony Night in Spanish, at 6:30 PM; on Thurdays, at 6:30 PM we have Bible Study in English.
Right now, since October 2010, we are in a journey of faith restoring the Temple and the Parsonage (Parish house) under Nehemiah's Project. We are raising funds to fix and to prepare the Templo for ministries. In combination with the Yayo's Latin Cousine, we are preparing the Church members, in volunteer way, to serve ready-to eat- food; free to the Community (still the date is not set yet), is one of the ways to be connected with the neighborhood, as we do through Flea Markets, Concerts and selling Organo Coffee (see our page online). We share the Temple with another United Methodist Congregation, Haitian Congregation; we, as part of the Body called United Methodists, have a very good relationship and we have worship together in special ocassions.
Invitation: December 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Worship service, we have from Dominican Republic the "Arpa Evangelica Choir", more than 45 years singing to praise our Lord Jesus Christ and preaching the Good News of Salvation through the music. The major number of songs are in Dominican ryhmns like merengue and mangulina, as well danza. We expect to see you in the celebration of love that God gave us for our salvation, Christmas time.
